To the People we engage with

  • Every one of our staff has been chosen from the communities we operate in. And every one of them has been imparted skills unavailable or unattainable in their localities – from communication to advanced safety and adventure techniques to program planning and accounting processes.
  • We have been working very closely with the local management committees in every forest area we operate in, to ensure that we contribute to the welfare of the very people who watch over the forests.
  • We work with small eating joints along our frequent trails to serve our guests local meals. The guests get to taste authentic fare, and we provide sustained traffic to the local community.

To the Places we operate in

  • We have been at the forefront of helping the local economy of Pozhuthana enjoy their share of tourism revenues. Our bamboo rafting operation and the occasional group program have been a constant source of occupation for the youth of the locality, as well as to the transporters, to the local hotels and to the gentleman who serves hot tea and snacks next to our raft landing.

To the Nature we are blessed with

  • Recovering plastic waste is close to religion for our staff. Every single plastic water bottle used on our trips, as well as any we find on the wayside are collected and brought back to our office. Most of these have been sent away to a recycling plant.
  • We are also building a hoard of these bottles to use in our upcoming campsite – to build a 'waste wall' of plastic bottles to remind ourselves and our guests of the amount of plastic we throw away.
